The Consumer Financial Protection Bureau’s monthly complaint snapshot for January 2017 features consumer complaints about mortgages. The report also highlights trends seen in complaints coming from Tennessee.
The bureau said more than 80 percent of mortgage-related complaints consumers submitted related to issues they had when making payments or when they were unable to pay their mortgages. In addition, the bureau said debt collection is the most-complained-about product or service in Tennessee, with debt collection complaints from Tennessee consumers exceeding the national rate.
