The CFPB has begun accepting consumer complaints about bank accounts, including checking accounts, savings accounts, certificates of deposits and related services. According to the bureau, consumers can file complaints using its website, by mail, fax or telephone. The bureau said that it expects banks to respond to complaints within 15 days and that it wants to close all complaints within 60 days. Consumers will be given tracking numbers they can use to check the status of their complaints on the CFPB website.
